# FAQs

### Facebook FAQs

<details>

<summary>Which Facebook app type do I need?</summary>

**Consumer.** Remote Storage's Facebook Login runs through Firebase Auth, which only supports the standard Facebook Login product — and that's what a Consumer app provides.

{% hint style="info" %}
If your Facebook app is **not** a Consumer type, it will not work with Remote Storage's Facebook Login.
{% endhint %}

</details>

<details>

<summary>How do I check my app type?</summary>

Go to **Meta for Developers** → select your app → the type is shown on the app dashboard.

</details>

<details>

<summary>My app is Gaming / Gaming Services — will it work?</summary>

No, not as configured. Gaming apps use the **Login for Gaming** flow, whose access tokens (prefixed `GG|`) are rejected by Firebase Auth with `InvalidCredential: The supplied auth credential is malformed or has expired`. Use a Consumer app instead.

</details>

<details>

<summary>My app is Business — will it work?</summary>

No. Business apps only support **Login for Business**, which requires a business-scoped permission and can't be used for player login. You'll see errors like *"This app needs at least one supported permission"* or *"Feature Unavailable."* Use a Consumer app instead.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I change my existing app to Consumer?</summary>

No — Facebook doesn't allow changing an app's type after creation. You'll need to create a new Consumer app. Coordinate with your Producer and UA team first, since the existing app may be tied to ad attribution.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://lionstudios.gitbook.io/readme/features/remote-storage/faqs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
