# Getting Started

This section covers the initial setup required to use Purchase Validation in your Unity project.

Before validating purchases, ensure that the **Lion – Purchase Validator** package is installed through the Unity Package Manager.

#### Configure Purchase Validation <a href="#open-the-settings-manager" id="open-the-settings-manager"></a>

In Unity, open the **Lion Settings Manager** window by navigating to **Window** → **Lion Studios** → **Settings Manager**

In the **Purchase Validator** section, select one of the following validation providers:

* **None**
* **Lion**
* **Adjust**

#### None

Disables purchase validation. Analytics events will still be sent for completed purchases.

This option is only recommended for small-scale or testing scenarios where purchase validation is not required.

#### Lion

Lion is the recommended validation provider.

Configure LionSDK Key in AppSettings, if not already configured, for Lion Validation to work. More info [here](/readme/features/app-settings.md)

**Note:** This option does not support subscription purchases.

{% hint style="info" %}
The **Lion Key** is the same **Lion SDK Key** used during the Setup Wizard process and can be retrieved from **Lion Portal** or can be asked from your Lion point of contact.
{% endhint %}

#### Adjust

Adjust can also be used as a validation provider.

To ensure that validation and analytics are reported correctly, sandbox testers must use a build configured for the **Sandbox** environment. If a build configured for the **Production** environment is used for sandbox testing, validation and analytics events may not be processed correctly.

#### Next Step

Once the setup is complete, continue to the next section to learn how to validate user purchases.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://lionstudios.gitbook.io/readme/features/purchasing/purchase-validation/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
